Hi, I'm Eben
I'm a PhD student at the Krawczyk Lab at the Van Andel Institute
I study dendritic cells (DCs). DCs are critical to our immune system, where they recognize foreign entities in our body and then inform other immune cells known as T cells to destroy these foreign entities.
My PhD work is focused on understanding the metabolic rules that dicatate DC activation and their interactions with T cells.
My work will improve our knowledge about DC functions and reveal new strategies that we can use to improve immunotherapy against cancer, autoimmune diseases, and viral infections.
